Turkey's consumer confidence deteriorated in March, ending fourth months of consecutive increases, data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute showed Wednesday.
The consumer confidence index declined to 74.9 in March from 76.7 in February. The downturn followed improvements in the preceding four months.
Households were slightly less optimistic about prospects for the Turkish economy over the next 12-month period. The relevant indicator dropped to 98 in March from 99 in February.
At the same time, the measure of consumers' expectations for their personal finances edged down to 90.8 in March from 90.9 in the previous month.
The surveyed respondents were also slightly less upbeat about the probability of saving in the next 12 months, with the corresponding sub-index declining to 24.9 from 25.1 in February.
