Swanky D.C. Prep School Faces Lawsuit Amid Sex Scandal

An elite prep school in Washington, D.C. is facing a lawsuit over an alleged affair between a school psychologist and a student's parent.

Arthur "Terry" Newmyer has slapped the Sidwell Friends School with a suit claiming that administrators were aware the psychologist was having an affair with his wife and allowed it to continue, reports Washingtonian.com.

According to the site, psychologist and sex ed teacher James Huntington had an elicit affair with Newmyer's wife Tara Mehrbach while also providing treatment to the couple's daughter. The case, which goes to trial this week, was filed by Newmyer in 2011 and he is reportedly seeking $10 million in damages.

In an unexpected twist to the story, famed Watergate reporter Bob Woodward has been subpoenaed after having contact with Huntington. Woodward's daughter attends Sidwell.
