Bulgaria Current Account Deficit Rises Marginally

Bulgaria's current account deficit rose marginally from a year earlier in February, the latest figures from the central bank showed Tuesday.

The current account recorded a deficit of EUR 356.7 million in February, higher than EUR 353 million in February 2012.

The shortfall was mainly due to negative trade balance of EUR 321.3 million, which was higher than EUR 303.7 million deficit recorded in the same month last year.

The income balance was negative at EUR 23.3 million during the month while the net current transfers recorded a deficit of EUR 57 million.
