Will.i.am will receive the Honorary Award at this year's CLIO Award Ceremony. The annual award show honors creative advertising in package design, print, radio and television and is scheduled for May 15 at New York City's Museum of Natural History.
CLIO Awards executive director Nicole Purcell said Will has earned the award:
"will.i.am has not only mastered music but has transcended his art form, extending his boundless creativity into areas like politics, technology and philanthropy. He embodies all of the values the CLIOs represent by inspiring change and encouraging us to think differently."
The Black Eyed Peas frontman will be just the third person to receive the Honorary Award. Last year, celebrity chef/writer Anthony Bourdain and photographer Annie Leibovitz were each presented with the award.
Will's latest, #willpower, dropped on April 23.
