US State Department To Host Conference On The Americas On May 8

The 43rd Annual Washington Conference on the Americas will be held at the US State Department in Washington, DC, on coming Wednesday, the 8th of May.

The event will be co-hosted by the US Department of State and the Council of the Americas.

The conference will feature remarks by senior US officials, including Vice-President Joe Biden, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Stephen Breyer, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Senator John McCain, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank and Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson.

Other prominent personalities who are slated to speak at the conference include World Bank Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold president and CEO Richard Adkerson, the State Department said in a press release.
