Mariah Carey and Miguel have released "#Beautiful," the first single from the pop diva's upcoming album. A video, directed by Joseph Kahn, is set to premiere Wednesday on American Idol.
Metro.Us writes that the song features Mariah in a better place than she's been in years:
"With a slinky retro guitar and a big fuzzy beat, it sounds like nothing Mimi has been able to pull off for the past 10 years. She makes the smart management decision and lets Miguel do most of the work. But that's the thing. The song doesn't sound at all like work."
Carey's follow-up to 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is set to drop later this summer and features production from Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Mike WiLL Made It and Rodney Jerkins.
