The Rolling Stones have faced slow ticket sales on their current 50 and Counting U.S. trek. The band managed to sell out its first date in Los Angeles, but only after ticket prices were cut in the days leading up to the show.
Ticket prices are to blame, say industry experts, with Stones' general admission prices beginning at $170, rising to $600 for premium seating and $2,000 for VIP seats.
"Total disaster. Too expensive and no vibe on the shows . . . it's a terrible way to go out," a source told the Guardian.
Another source told the paper that the band is suffering from lack of planning:
"They did everything backwards . . . A bit more thought should have gone into it because now they are up against all this summer competition."
