An FBI agent was involved in a fatal shooting on Tuesday involving a man who was being questioned in connection to his links with Boston marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
The incident took place in an Orlando, Florida condominium where Ibragim Todashev, a 27-year-old man who had been a friend of Tsarnaev, was being questioned by the FBI after he cancelled a planned trip to Chechnya. A law enforcement source told ABC News that "there was some sort of aggressive movement that led the FBI agent to believe he was under threat and he opened fire."
Todashev had been arrested on May 4 on aggravated battery charges after a fight, a friend of his told local station WESH-TV. The friend, Khusn Taramiv, also noted that Todashev had known Tsarnaev through their shared interest in mixed martial arts and that both he and Todashev had been questioned for three hours on Tuesday in connection with the deadly Boston bombing.
FBI officials have stated that they are investigating the incident.
