$5,000 Worth Of Heroin Seized In Virginia

Authorities in Culpeper, Virginia have arrested three men in connection with nine recent heroin overdoses in the area.

Local television station WVIR reports that Richard Anthony Barracks, 31, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, conspiracy to distribute heroin and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Authorities also arrested Leon Travis Brock, 22, and charged him with felony possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute heroin. In addition, authorities arrested Edward Leon Ferris, 28, and charged him with felony possession of cocaine.

When the three men were arrested, authorities seized $5,000 worth of heroin, and approximately $500 worth of cocaine along with a minor amount of marijuana.

"The goal of the street crimes unit right now is to get to the bottom of the heroin problem," said police Lt. Tim Chilton, who has asked the public for help with any information they may have about the heroin trafficking problem.
