A teenage boy in Utah is suspected of stabbing to death his two younger brothers while his mother was out of the house, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.
Police are not releasing the name of the 15-year-old suspect, who was arrested Thursday after the bodies of his brothers were found inside the home in West Point.
"As a result of our investigation, this morning we have taken the 15-year-old juvenile into custody," Davis County Sheriff's Sgt. Susan Poulsen said.
"We believe the boy acted alone."
Police believe the teenage suspect killed his two brothers, ages 10 and 4, while he was left home alone with them while their mother was running errands.
The father is serving in the military on active duty overseas.
The mother reported that she found the 4-year-old dead and the other two sons were missing.
But during a search of the home, the body of the 10-year-old boy was found with stab wounds.
The suspect fled and was found in the Layton area.
He is being held in the Farmington Bay Youth Detention Center.
