Metallica have released the trailer for Metallica: Through the Never, their upcoming 3D concert film.

The new clip shows the band performing "Master of Puppets" while the stage becomes engulfed in fire. The trailer also shows protesters clashing with police, and a demonic horseman.

Helmed by Hungarian director Nimród Antal (Predators, Vacancy), the film "blends concert footage from three shows filmed in Vancouver last August with a narrative arc featuring the actor Dane DeHaan playing a fictional member of the band's road crew," according to a release.

The band ripped through a number of their most beloved hits during the performances, like "Battery," "Nothing Else Matters," "Enter Sandman," "Hit the Lights" and "Seek & Destroy."

Metallica Through the Never will see release exclusively in IMAX on September 27th before opening in theaters everywhere on October 4th.
