A host of country music's hottest stars took to the softball diamond for charity, taking part in City of Hope's 23rd annual Celebrity Softball Challenge presented by Staples.
The event, which included rosters full of stars such as Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Florida Georgia Line, Craig Campbell, Greg Bates, Chuck Wicks and Olympic figure skating champion Scott Hamilton, was held to benefit City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. American Idol runner-up Kree Harrison sang the National Anthem and Storme Warren, host of GAC's Headline Country, served as emcee.
Team Opry, which included Idol contestant Ayla Brown, Phil Vassar and Jonathan Jackson (Nashville), ended up winning the five-inning game 29-27.
The Celebrity Softball Challenge has raised more than $2 million for City of Hope, enabling scientists to advance research and improve treatments for patients and families everywhere.
