A new monument is planned for the grave site of country legend George Jones in Nashville. The news came from George's widow Nancy, who placed a plaque at the grave site, Nashville's Woodlawn Cemetery, previewing the monument.
According to an artists' rendering of the plaque, the new monument will be adorned with the words "He Stopped Loving Her Today."
The plaque reads: "This is a rendering of the monument that is being prepared and will be placed in the coming weeks. Thank you for all your love and support shown to George and to me. God bless, Nancy."
George passed on April 26 of this year after struggling with upper respiratory issues for months. He was on tour for much of his final year and was honored with a well-attended public funeral.
