Bay Street stocks were little changed at open Wednesday amid selling in gold stocks, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index edged down 1.01 points to 12,222.56.
The Global Gold Index was down over 0.50 percent, with Kinross Gold (K.TO) losing about 2 percent. Goldcorp. (G.TO) slipped about 0.50 percent.
Dollar store operator Dollarama Inc. (DOL.TO) dived over 4 percent after posting higher first-quarter net earnings of C$0.62 per share, missing consensus estimates of C$0.67 per share.
Real estate services company Temple Hotels (TPH.TO) divested its 15.70 percent stake or 2.9 million common shares of Holloway Lodging Corp. (HLC.TO) for $10.3 million. Shares of Holloway Lodging shed about 1 percent.
Meanwhile, e-commerce solutions provider Mediagrif Interactive Technologies (MDF.TO) jumped nearly 4 percent after reporting improved net income for the fourth quarter
In the oil patch, MEG Energy (MEG.TO) and Suncor Energy (SU.TO) were up around 1 percent each.
