Sandra Bullock is in talks to star in the Sony Pictures remake of the beloved classic, "Annie." Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis ("Beasts of the Southern Wild") have already been confirmed for the picture.

Should she sign, Bullock would play the role of Miss Hannigan, the incorrigible mistress of the orphanage occupied by Annie and other girls. The 1982 version of the film featured Carol Burnett in that role. Sources tell The Wrap that Bullock initially declined the role before returning to the table.

Foxx has been cast in the role of Benjamin Stacks, an updated version of the Daddy Warbucks character, while Wallis will play Annie. That part was originally set for Willow Smith but turned down by her father, Will Smith.

Will Gluck ("Easy A") directs the film, which is expected to hit theaters in winter 2014.
