Samsung unveiled the latest member to its Galaxy S4 brand, Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, a smartphone that boasts of a 16 mega pixel camera and 10x optical zoom lens.
This is the fourth smartphone from Samsung under the S4 brand. The company first launched its flagship model Galaxy S4 in March, then followed it with a S4 mini in May and after that came S4 Active, a rugged dust-and-water proof variant. Samsung in its blog said, "S4 zoom is the ultimate smartphone and camera experience in one, and the only device you'll ever need."
The new Galaxy S4 zoom has a 4.3-inch 960x540 super AMOLED screen. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor and 1.5 GB ram, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The phone has an internal memory of 8GB and supports micro SD card of up to 64 GB.
The device sports a 16 mega pixel BSI CMOS Sensor camera, 10x optical zoom and xenon flash. The phone also provides optical image stabilizer that helps keep the camera perfectly still even when users are moving. The camera can also record full HD videos (1920x1080).
According to Cnet, Samsung will ship S4 Zoom to the UK this summer, while it will only reach the US and rest of the Europe in the fourth quarter. The Korean electronic giant did not provide any price details.
