Police in North Attleboro, Massachusetts reportedly searched the home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez as part of a homicide investigation. The home was searched on Tuesday night when more than ten police cars encircled the large suburban home, according to Sports Illustrated.

The investigation began last week after the body of 27-year-old man was discovered in a wooded clearing near Hernandez's home. A source close the player explained to S.I. that a rental car involved in the case had been rented in Hernandez's name.

At this time the Pro Bowler has not been named a suspect in the case. Authorities spent two hours at the residence and one investigator was reportedly seen exiting the property with a cardboard box. At this point there has been no official statement from Hernandez or his agents about the ongoing investigation.
