A St. Louis man was outraged earlier this week after he noticed that the kitchen staff had included an obscene word on his bill. Joseph Gibson visited the eatery with his kids over the weekend to celebrate Father's Day when a server took an inside joke too far, reports the area's KSDK-TV.

Gibson had reportedly made a special request for one of his children's meals and, upon receiving the check, noticed that the waitress had added the line "f***in needy kids." He immediately sought out manager Denny Domachowski, who explained that it was only a joke between the wait staff and kitchen.

Outraged by this explanation, Gibson posted a photograph of the check to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website, adding: "So customers with children are a joke? This place isn't so friendly. I got nowhere with management."

The manager, however, says he apologized profusely for the incident, telling the news channel:

"The incident shouldn't have happened and I made sure she understands that," he said. "She didn't mean to offend the gentleman and his son. She had a good experience with them as customers. She was just in a hurry and forgot to take that off."
