Hungary May Trade Surplus Revised Lower

Hungary's trade surplus for May was revised lower, final data from the Central Statistical Office showed on Friday.

The trade surplus for May revised lower to EUR 641.4 million from EUR 653.2 million reported on July 9. The surplus narrowed from EUR 729.2 million registered a year ago and EUR 717.4 million logged in April.

Exports declined 1.9 percent year-on-year, while imports shrunk 0.7 percent.

During the January to May period, the country had a trade surplus of EUR 3.10 billion compared to EUR 2.85 billion last year. Exports grew 1.8 percent and imports were up 1.1 percent.
