MSNBC Panel Pokes Fun At Romney Family Photo

Republicans want the left-leaning MSNBC network to apologize for panelists' jokes about Mitt Romney's recently adopted African-American grandchild, Kieran. The guests on Melissa Harris-Perry's show cracked up when shown a picture of the infant with the Romneys, an overwhelmingly white Mormon family.

Of the family photo, one panelist, actress Pia Glenn, sang "one of these things is not like the other."

Comedian Dean Obeidallah quipped that the lone black person in a sea of white faces reminded him of the Republican National Convention.

"It really sums up the diversity of the Republican Party, the RNC. At the convention, they find the one black person," Obeidallah said.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said the remarks which aired Sunday were "disgusting."

Priebus called on the network and panelists to "apologize immediately for mocking Romney's adopted grandchild."

Obeidallah, an Arab-American, initially said he was sorry for offending adoptive families but came back with another jab at the GOP's diversity problem.

"Attention Republicans: If all the names of the Black leaders in GOP can fit on one tweet, you are not a racially diverse party," Obeidallah tweeted.
