Neil Young's New Album A 'Low Tech Experience'

Neil Young says that his upcoming album, A Letter Home, is a decidedly lo-fi affair. "It's one of the lowest-tech experiences I've ever had," Young recently told Rolling Stone.

Due out in March, the album was recorded at Jack White's Third Man studios in Nashville.

The Third Man website says that the album is "an unheard collection of rediscovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro-mechanical technology captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever."

There has been speculation surrounding the LP's contents. Some have wondered whether Young and White did an album of old time duets, which Young's Facebook page says is an "erroneous" report.

Others wonder if Young's reference to the "low-tech experience" means he recorded the album in Third Man's novelty vinyl recording booth. Still others are guessing that A Letter Home has been produced by Jack White.

Regardless, the album is due out in March with a tour by Young expected to follow.
