Brilliance China Automotive Profit Rises On BMW Brilliance JV - Quick Facts

Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited, a manufacturer of minibuses and automotive components, reported Thursday that its fiscal 2013 profit attributable to equity holders of the company increased 46.6 percent to 3.37 billion yuan from last year's 2.30 billion yuan.

Earnings per share grew to 0.66870 yuan from 0.45605 yuan a year ago.

The company's share of results of joint ventures grew 41.7 percent to 3.45 billion yuan from prior year's 2.43 billion yuan. This was primarily attributable to the increased profits contributed by BMW Brilliance, the firm's 50 percent indirectly owned joint venture.

Meanwhile, gross profit declined to 686.52 million yuan from 696.19 million yuan a year ago.

Revenues increased to 6.10 billion yuan from last year's 5.92 billion yuan. The BMW joint venture achieved sales of 206,729 BMW vehicles in 2013, an increase of 28.5 percent.

Further, the company said its directors did not recommend the payment of a final dividend in respect of the year 2013. The company did not pay a final dividend last year.
