UBM Acquires Expo CIHAC - Quick Facts

Business services provider UBM Plc (UBM.L,UBMJF.PK) reported acquiring Expo CIHAC from Centro Impulsor de la Construcción y Habitación A.C. or CIHAC, the Mexican construction industry trade association. The company said the acquisition is complemented by an agreement with CIHAC providing for its long-term support for Expo CIHAC.

Expo CIHAC is based in Mexico City. Eleven of the business's existing employees
would transfer to UBM.

Expo CIHAC was introduced in 1989 and is currently among Mexico's ten largest
tradeshows and the largest serving the infrastructure, construction and housing
markets. Held annually in October, Expo CIHAC exhibitors span the industry
including construction materials, machinery, equipment, hand and power tools,
prefabricated building systems and technologies, financial services, real
estate, insulation and piping.

Google, owned by Alphabet Inc., plans to merge its teams working on Maps products and the mapping service Waze with effect from December 9, reports said. The decision to consolidate processes comes as the search giant is facing pressure to streamline operations and cut costs. The cases were related to personal injury, consumer class action, government entity, and Native American tribes. In a statement, the company said it cannot disclose the settlement amount at this time as part of the settlement and court process.
