German Unemployment Rate At Record Low

German unemployment rate declined to a record low and the number of people out of work decreased more than expected in December, data from the Federal Labor Agency showed Wednesday.

The jobless rate fell to a record low 6.5 percent in December. The rate was expected to remain unchanged at 6.6 percent.

The number of people out of work decreased by 27,000 from November to 2.841 million, while economists forecast a fall of 5,000.
