South Korea December Industrial Output Climbs 3.0%

Industrial production in South Korea was up a seasonally adjusted 3.0 percent on month in December, Statistics Korea said on Friday.

The beat forecasts for an increase of 1.3 percent, which would have been unchanged from the November reading.

On a yearly basis, industrial production added 0.4 percent - also topping expectations for a flat reading following the 3.4 percent annual decline in November.

The index for all industry production was up 0.9 percent on month and 1.8 percent on year in December. The Manufacturing Production Index added 2.8 percent on month and 0.2 percent on year.
