China's economy last year expanded less than the government previously announced, data published by the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
Gross domestic product grew 7.3 percent in 2014 instead of 7.4 percent. GDP totaled CNY 63.6 trillion, which was down by CNY 32.4 billion from the initial estimate.
The revision to the service sector was the major reason for downgrading overall growth. Annual growth in the service sector was trimmed to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent.
The agriculture sector advanced 4.1 percent and the secondary sector that covers manufacturing and construction expanded 7.3 percent.
The services sector accounted for 48.1 percent of GDP in 2014. The secondary sector accounted for 42.7 percent and the farm sector by 9.2 percent.
The second largest economy expanded 7 percent in the first half of 2015, in line with the government's aim of about 7 percent growth.
