Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, R-Ken., had some harsh words for his fellow Republican presidential candidates' positions on Syria on Tuesday.

During a day-long live stream of his campaign events in Iowa, Paul suggested the other candidates were "idiots" for backing increased military involvement in the Syrian civil war.

"Shouldn't we at least talk about what idiots we have in the Republican Party running for president who want to have a red line and a no-fly zone in Syria," Paul said. "What a recipe for disaster."

He added, "All of them beating their chest to see who is the most likely to get us involved in a war that really, these people have been at war for a thousand years. You think somehow we're going to solve their problems?"

Paul also lumped Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton in with his Republican rivals, saying she agrees with all of them on Syria.

During the Democratic debate Tuesday night, Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley also criticized Clinton for her call for a no-fly zone in Syria.

Paul was likely hoping the day-long live stream would help boost his campaign, which has struggled with disappointing fundraising totals and low poll numbers.
