Blake Shelton To Host 2015 Kids' Choice Awards

Blake Shelton will host the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards, the country star announced via Twitter. First he teased "something big," before adding, "No chance y'all are gonna guess this one. It's just way too insane."

Later, speaking with People, Shelton opened up on the opportunity.

"I've been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick's Kids' Choice Awards . . . There is only one team here, and it's Team Kids' Choice, so bring it on, Nickelodeon!"

In an appearance on The Today Show, Shelton told Kathy Lee and Hoda that "I just want to get slimed!"

"I want to do this thing with kids, it's fun. My agent called and asked me if there was anything I wanted to do, and I had been thinking, 'I want to host those Kids' Choice Awards.'"

The 2016 Kids' Choice Awards air March 12.
