Red Hat Inc. (RHT) released a profit for its fourth quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line came in at $97.03 million, or $0.52 per share. This was up from $80.58 million, or $0.43 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.47 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 17.1% to $543.50 million. This was up from $463.94 million last year.
