Randi Zuckerberg: Alaska Airlines Encouraged Pervert To Harass Me

Randi Zuckerberg, the sister of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has accused Alaska Airlines staff of "knowingly and willingly providing" a drunk passenger with a platform to continue harassing her and making lewd sexual remarks during a three-hour flight on Wednesday.

Zuckerberg, who is also the founder of Zuckerberg Media, shared a copy of the email she sent to Alaska's officials on Twitter.

"Feeling disgusted & degraded after an @AlaskaAir flight where the passenger next to me made repeated lewd sexual remarks," Zuckerberg tweeted.

In her note to Alaska Airlines, Zuckerberg said she was put in an extremely uncomfortable situation when the passenger next to her on the flight from Los Angeles to Mazatlan, Mexico in first class began making explicit, lewd and highly offensive sexual comments to her immediately as she boarded the aircraft.

The man also rated and commented on the bodies of other women boarding the aircraft as they walked by, according to Zuckerberg.

When Zuckerberg brought the man's behavior to the flight attendants' attention, she was asked by them to excuse his behavior as he was a frequent flyer on that route.

The flight attendants offered to move Zuckerberg to a middle seat at the back of the plane, but she rejected their offer.

Zuckerberg claimed the staff joked with the passenger by asking him "Are you behaving today?" and continued to serve him alcoholic beverages throughout the flight, while the drunk passenger continued to make inappropriate and offensive comments to her.

"I am furious at that passenger for making me extremely uncomfortable for a 3 hour flight. But I am even more furious with Alaska Airlines for knowingly and willingly providing this man with a platform to harass women," Zuckerberg said.

In response to Zuckerberg's email, Alaska Airlines tweeted, "What you have shared with us is very disturbing. We have launched an investigation and have revoked this passenger's travel privileges pending the outcome of that investigation."

The airline added that it has zero tolerance for any type of sexual misconduct that creates an unsafe environment for its guests and crew members.
