Delta Air Lines January Traffic Flat, Capacity Rises

Delta Air Lines (DAL) said that its traffic for the month of January 2018 were 15.642 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs compared to 15.640 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

But, monthly capacity was 19.62 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 1.8% from 19.27 billion ASMs in the prior year period.

Load factor for the month was 79.7%, down 1.5 points from 81.2% reported last year.

The European Commission said Friday that it has signed a deal with Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline to secure up to 300 million doses of their potential COVID-19 vaccine.
