Maximus Inc Q1 Income Climbs

Maximus Inc (MMS) released earnings for its first quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $59.09 million, or $0.89 per share. This was higher than $46.66 million, or $0.71 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.74 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.6% to $623.15 million. This was up from $607.56 million last year.
