Bank of Montreal Bottom Line Drops In Q1

Bank of Montreal (BMO.TO) announced earnings for first quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line dropped to C$1.42 billion, or C$2.12 per share. This was down from C$1.53 billion, or C$2.28 per share, in last year's first quarter.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.0% to C$5.68 billion. This was up from C$5.41 billion last year.
