ManpowerGroup Announces Rise In Q1 Profit

ManpowerGroup (MAN) reported a profit for its first quarter that rose from the same period last year.

The company's earnings came in at $97.0 million, or $1.45 per share. This compares with $74.4 million, or $1.09 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.64 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 16.6% to $5.55 billion from $4.76 billion last year.
