American Express Co. (AXP) Is Down After Q2 Revenues Disappoint

American Express Co. (AXP) reported second quarter EPS of $1.84 after the close Wednesday, compared to $1.47 last year. Revenues rose 9.1% to $10.00 billion from $9.17 billion last year. Street expectations were for EPS of $1.82 and revenues of $10.05 billion. The stock is now down 3.98 on 293K shares.

American Express climbed until mid-morning Wednesday, but settled into a range for the rest of the session. Shares finished up by 1.83 at $102.98. The stock closed challenging the highs of the year, trading at a 2-month high.
