Ross Stores Inc. (ROST) reported second quarter EPS of $1.04 after the bell Thursday, up from $0.82 in the prior year period. Analysts expected EPS of $1.01. The company expects to report third quarter EPS of $0.84 to $0.88. Street expectations are for EPS of $0.88. The stock is now down 5.06 on 290K shares.

Ross Stores climbed until mid-morning Thursday, before settling into a range. Shares finished with a gain of 1.62 at $95.03. The stock climbed to a new high for the year.
