Lil Wayne, who hosted his fourth annual Lil WeezyAna Fest on Saturday night at New Orleans' Champions Square, brought out a surprise mega star guest in Nicki Minaj.

Minaj's appearance came as a surprise at the end of the show. "I want to show love for this man who gave me my career single-handedly," Minaj said. She then delivered a short performance that included "Barbie Dreams" and her verses from Tekashi 6ix9ine's "FeFe" and YG's "Big Bank".

The one-day festival also doubled as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Lil Wayne's landmark Tha Carter III. The event also featured performances by Jeezy, Youngboy Never Broke Again, Torey Lanez and more.

During the event, Wayne also accepted an apology from Birdman, the CEO of label Cash Money Records, who came onstage and offered a public apology.

"It feels amazing bruh to be home f**king with my son, I love that ni**a to death. I don't know what y'all know but I know what the fuck I know and I know how I feel about what I know. I knew this day was gonna come, but I ain't know when it was gonna come. But this ni**a right here? The best ni**a, the realest ni**a, the illest ni**a. And I wanted to apologize to my ni**a worldwide to let him know. That ni**ga put his life in my hands, and I'm gonna keep it real with that ni**a. We're gonna do this shit 'til the day we die."

In 2015, Wayne had sued Cash Money for $51 million, claiming the record label violated his contract terms and withheld tons of money after delaying his album Tha Carter V several times.

In June this year, Lil Wayne reached a settlement with Cash Money Records, which reportedly netted the rapper well over $10 million of dollars.
