French stocks eked out modest gains on Monday after a monthly Bank of France survey revealed that France's economy is forecast to grow as previously estimated in the third quarter.
According to the monthly index of business activity, gross domestic product is set to expand 0.4 percent in the third quarter, unchanged from the previous estimate.
The benchmark CAC 40 was up 9 points or 0.18 percent at 5,262 in opening deals, with renewed concerns about a trade war between the U.S. and China limiting the upside.
