Taylor Swift Becomes American Music Awards' Most-decorated Female Artist

Taylor Swift stole the 2018 American Music Awards night with a crowd-pumping show opening performance, followed by breaking the record for most AMA wins ever by a female artist.

Winning four trophies each, she was the topper at this year along with her touring partner Camila Cabello.

Having won Artist of the year, Tour of the Year, Favorite Female Artist - Pop/Rock, and Favorite Album - Pop/Rock categories, she set a new AMA record of 23 awards, surpassing Whitney Houston's 21 wins.

In her acceptance speech, the 28-year old Pop star urged fans to take part in the US mid-term elections, just two days after she made her political stand clear by endorsing two Democrat candidates in Tennessee.

Camila Cabello's song "Havana", featuring Young Thug, was the favorite Pop/Rock Song of the fans. It also won her the Favorite Music Video award and Collaboration of the Year award. She was also voted as the New Artist of the Year.

Kane Brown and Cardi B took home three trophies each.

Cardi B made a triumphant return to the AMA stage after giving birth with a vibrant, Latin-inspired performance of her hit single "I Like It," with J Balvin and Bad Bunny.

Post Malone is the Favorite Male Artist in Pop/Rock, and Migos is the Favorite Pop/Rock Group.

Gospel and soul's biggest names came out to pay a musical tribute to late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, that got the audience to their feet.

The 2018 American Music Awards, the world's largest fan-voted awards show, was hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, for the second year in a row at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
