Sweden Retail Sales Growth Accelerates In September

Sweden's retail sales grew at a faster pace in September, Statistics Sweden said Friday.

Retail sales climbed 2.1 percent year-on-year, following a 1.9 percent rise in August. This was the fastest increase in four months and above the expected rate of 1.7 percent.

Retail sales in consumables increased 1.5 percent and sales in durables climbed 2.6 percent in September.

On a monthly basis, retail trade grew 0.5 percent in September, which was slightly faster than the forecast of 0.4 percent.

During July to September, retail sales decreased by 0.2 percent compared with the previous three-month period.
