Romania Producer Price Inflation Moderates In September

Romania's industrial producer price inflation eased modestly in September, preliminary figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed on Friday.

Industrial producer prices rose 5.6 percent year-on-year, after a 5.9 percent climb in August. In July, prices increased 6 percent.

The inflation figure was the lowest since May, when the rate was 5.3 percent.
Producer prices for the domestic market rose 6.1 percent following a 6 percent increase in the previous month. Export market prices grew 4.9 percent after a 5.7 percent rise in July.

Energy industry prices surged 15.6 percent.

Among others, prices for the intermediate goods industry recorded the biggest gain of 5.6 percent, followed by durable consumer goods with a 2.33 percent gain.

Compared to the previous month, producer prices rose 0.30 percent in September after a 0.64 percent increase in August.
