Pivotal Software Posting Strong Gain On Better Than Expected Q3 Results

Shares of Pivotal Software, Inc. (PVTL) continue to see significant strength in afternoon trading on Wednesday after an early move to the upside. After reaching its best intraday level in a month, Pivotal is currently up by 6.9 percent.

The early advance by Pivotal came after the software and services company reported a narrower than expected fiscal third quarter loss on revenues that exceeded analyst estimates.

Pivotal reported an adjusted third quarter loss of $0.05 per share on revenues of $168.1 million, while analysts had expected the company to report a loss of $0.08 per share on revenues of $164.1 million.
