Coinbase Rolls Out Crypto-to-crypto Conversion Feature

Major US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase rolled out a new feature called "Convert" which will enable conversion of one cryptocurrency into another. The new feature will be available on Coinbase.com and in the iOS and Android apps.

Customers can initially convert between Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), 0x (ZRX), or Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The conversions can be completed instantly and at a lower cost than that done via two separate transactions.

The new feature will be gradually rolled out in all 34 countries in which Coinbase offers native payment access.

The announcement of the "Convert" feature is part of Coinbase's "12 Days of Coinbase" promotional campaign named after the traditional Christmas carol song "12 days of Christmas." Coinbase said it will announce new features, support for new cryptocurrencies, and more each day at noon from December 10 to 21.

On the first day, the team at Coinbase announced that customers in the United States could now spend their crypto balances on WeGift e-gift cards.

The exchange donated $10,000 in ZCash (ZEC) to support GiveCrypto.org's project in the Venezuelan border town of Santa Elena de Uairen on the second day.

On the fourth day, Coinbase announced that customers in the U.S. can now withdraw cash instantly to their PayPal account. It then donated $10,000 in Bitcoin (BTC) through GiveCrypto.org on the sixth day to support 150 underserved Syrian refugees in Greece with a basic income.
