Kid Rock joined Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band on stage at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Friday night and performed "Rock N' Roll Never Forgets," the opening track from Seger's 1976 album Night Moves.

Seger told the audience, "I've known [Rock] since he started in music."

Rock said that it was "an honor to be here tonight, joining my friend and absolute musical hero here... Over 50 years, one of the best singer-songwriters in American history. Maybe his last time in Nashville. I sure hope not."

Seger and Rock both hail from Detroit and have ties to Nashville. They have shared the stage several times since 2006.

Kid Rock has been battling Nashville civic authorities and activists in recent weeks over his political views and the sign for his Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse.
