Vietnam Manufacturing Sector Slows In January

The manufacturing sector in Vietnam continued to expand in January, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Friday with a manufacturing PMI score of 51.9.

That's down from 53.8 in December, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Individually, there were weaker rises in output, new orders and employment.

Input costs increased only slightly and output prices decreased. Continued output growth is expected through this year, the survey said.
