Philippines Manufacturing PMI Falls To 52.3 - Nikkei

The manufacturing sector in the Philippines continued to expand in January, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from Nikkei revealed on Friday with a manufacturing PMI score of 52.3.

That's down from 53.2 in December, although it remains above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Individually, output expanded solidly but at a softer pace than in December.

New orders rose sharply despite a continued slump in foreign demand. Employment declined for the first time since July.
