Swiss Blockchain Firm WISeKey Opens Blockchain Center Of Excellence In Geneva

Swiss blockchain firm WISeKey opened its Blockchain Center of Excellence in Geneva at the World Trade Center II, which will be officially inaugurated in April 2019. The new center is a partnership with Blockchain Research Institute (BRI) for the creation of a number of interconnected Blockchain Centers of Excellence around the world.

The center aims to assist Blockchain startups and research to promote their technologies internationally, facilitate the rapid adaptation and on-boarding of Blockchain-based solutions. It will also help foster stronger collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors and cooperate to ensure availability of the latest technological standards.

WISeKey is already in the process of establishing Blockchain Centers of Excellence in India, Mauritius and Rwanda. Additional centers will be established in places such as Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In the last few months, WISeKey has also announced the creation of such centers in USA, China, Malaysia, Africa and Latin America.

All these centers will be interconnected via three hubs - Geneva, Toronto and Beijing, a Trust Triangle operating under a Common Trust Protocol. The centers will use WISeKey's PKI hardened Blockchain technology provide trust and security, while maintaining the core Blockchain values of transparency, auditability, and traceability.

Each Blockchain center established by WISeKey is expected to develop a particular expertise that can be shared among all centers. While one develops platforms and applications to fight counterfeiting, illicit trade and corruption, another can focus on digital private banking and commodity trading applications.

WISeKey is a global cybersecurity company currently deploying large scale digital identity ecosystems for people and objects using Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) respecting the Human as the Fulcrum of the Internet.
