Ethereum (ETH) seems to have gained the biggest benefit in terms of value among the top cryptocurrencies in the recent strong upward movement in the market, as it fattened by more than 20 percent in price in the past one month.

In February alone, the world's second largest cryptocurrency gained more than 36 percent.

According to Coinbase, in one month between January 22 and February 21, the virtual currency improved by $25.86, or 21.98 percent.

A drastic change was witnessed in the last two weeks, when the digital currency moved rapidly upward by nearly $40 percent, from the recent lowest price of $102.

As of writing this, ETH is changing hands at $143.63.

As the price action was changing from bearish-to-bullish, Ethereum reclaimed its No. 2 rank in the list of the world's largest cryptocurrencies, overtaking Ripple's XRP digital token.

The cryptocurrency, native to the ethereum blockchain, currently has a market capitalization of $15.32 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.

There has also been a significant increase in its 24-hour trading volume to $4,42 billion.

Bitcoin remains the market leader with a market capitalization of $62.8 billion.

ETH/BTC pair has moved above the 200-day moving average for the first time in eight months.
