Eaton Plans To Pursue Spin-off Of Lighting Business

Eaton (ETN) said that it plans to pursue a spin-off of its Lighting business. The spin-off will create an independent, publicly traded company and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Goldman Sachs is serving as Eaton's financial advisor on the transaction.

The Lighting business, which had sales of $1.7 billion in 2018, serves customers in commercial, industrial, residential and municipal markets.

Lowe's Companies Inc. (LOW) and Office Depot Inc. (ODP) reported profit for their fourth-quarter, while TJX Companies' (TJX) profit increased 17 percent from the prior year. The F-150 has been the top selling U.S. vehicle by any manufacturer for more than 40 years.
