U.S.-based automotive dealer Bob Moore Auto Group entered into a deal with crypto payments processor Aliant payments Systems to start accepting payments in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

As a pilot program, the major car dealer in Oklahoma is now accepting payments in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) for cars, parts, and service at its Subaru dealership in Oklahoma City. The company operates 18 dealerships throughout Oklahoma.

After a review, the auto group will consider expanding crypto payments to other Bob Moore dealerships including Audi, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Infiniti, Jaguar, Jeep, KIA, Land Rover, Maserati, Mazda, Nissan, Porsche, and Ram.

Aliant says its partnership makes Bob Moore one of the first auto dealers in the U.S., and the first one in the state of Oklahoma, to accept payments in cryptocurrencies.

Aliant has been offering cryptocurrency payments to merchants from 2017. Aliant's payment processing system claims to mitigate the risk of volatility of cryptocurrencies for merchants.

Cryptocurrency adoption continues to spread in the automotive industry as customers can avoid the high credit card fees for the high value purchases.

In September last year, US-based luxury automobile retailer Post Oak Motor Cars started accepting payments for luxury carriages in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and bitcoin cash through bitcoin payment processor BitPay. This is applicable for buyers of Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Bugatti from the dealerships in America.

Earlier in July, American Custom Car Builder Classic Recreations began accepting payment for its rebuilt-to-order high-performance vintage Ford Mustang vehicles in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.
